ABT AWARD 2020

winner: JAY AFRISANDO for his composition PERFECT GLITCHED

Three organizations set up the ABT AWARD and delivered each a member of the jury: ART MUSIC TODAY – Gatot Danar Sulistiyanto BLACK PENCIL – Jorge Isaac TRACE21 – Roderik de Man PH (also TRACE21) acted as impartial chairman of the jury. Five sample compositions had been contributed: GERAK by Aldy Maulana MY NAME by Hafiz Bimandaru K. Ghiffary PERFECTLY GLITCHED by Jay Afrisando HOOGSPANNING (High Tension) by Nursalim Yadi Anugerah UNEXSPECTED TURN by Rangga Purnama Aji

The jury decided  PERFECTLY GLITCHED by Jay Afrisando to be the winner,
which means he will be offered a full scale composition commission
(offering 15 million Indonesian Rupiahs, is about € 1.000)
for BLACK PENCIL,
to become part of the TOPENG – MASQUERADE PROJECT
to be materialized in the summer of 2021.

Apart of that the jury named two more composers/compositions as
ABT WORKSHOP participants:
GERAK by Aldy Maulana
HOOGSPANNING (High Tension) by Nursalim Yadi Anugerah
Both composers will be invited to take part in a special workshop,
also being part of  the TOPENG – MASQUERADE PROJECT 2021.
BLACK PENCIL
is offering them this special workshop, to rehearse and perform
their compositions during the final presentation of educational programs
as part of the project.
Their special workshop prize will offer them
1,5 million Indonesian Rupiahs (is about € 100).

All three awards require full scores to be finalized by December 1. 2020, not being a sample-composition anymore, but for the full ensemble BLACK PENCIL.
